This chainsaw carving, representing 'King Canute', is situated on the A537 from Chelford to Knutsford, Cheshire, just after a 'Welcome to historic Knutsford' sign. Legend has it that King Canute gave his name to Knutsford - Canute's Ford.
The chainsaw carving has been created from the stump of a Beech tree and it stands about 12' high from pavement level.
This Wizard, sculpted with chainsaws from an oak stump, is overall about ten feet tall from ground level. He stands with two dragons outside the Coach House of a property in Cheshire - looking towards the main entrance gate. His eyes follow you as you walk passed.

This horse's head was an unusual request - the chainsaw sculpture it is based upon is a sculpture which is about 30 feet tall entitled 'Still Water' by Nic Fiddian Green, now on permanent display at Marble Arch, London. This one was sculpted from an Oak tree at the entrance to the driveway of two houses in the Mobberley area of Cheshire. The horse is attached to the stump by two stainless steel rods which give the impression the horse's nose is just touching the base.
